Applications are sought for a three-year fixed
term research associate position, funded by the Engineering and
Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). The appointee will work in
the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University
under the guidance of Professor Kevin Glazebrook. The research sits at the
interface between applied probability and the mathematics of operational
research. The appointee will have (or be about to complete) a PhD with
substantial mathematical content and will possess strong computer
programming skills. The project concerns the construction of strongly
performing and interpretable policies for dynamic resource allocation. It
involves both mathematical innovation and computational implementation. A
